This well loved gem is right on my doorstop and despite its traditional garden centre setting it offers a lot more than you may expect, particularly if you have been part of Veganuary.
The breakfasts are hearty and fantastic value for money, while the daily menu offers a little something for everybody with lots of unusual vegan and gluten free options too. The warm chicken salad was full of blue cheese and came in a bowl large enough to feed two. The vegan sandwich was chock full of tasty roasted vegetables and the light and crunchy bread mopped up the moorish juices, while the Quiche Lorraine hit all the buttons with flaky pastry, creamy filling and plenty of salty bacon.
The crowning glory at Ransoms however is the selection of gigantic cakes that greet you on your entrance and which are, frankly, hard to resist. Whatever your sweet tooth you are bound to struggle to choose from the impressive selection of gluten free and vegan cakes, alongside the tea room staples. One slice is enough to feed two so find a few friends and try them all!
