Bananas and oats. Two cupboard staples that make a perfect partnership for breakfast in many different guises. I am often in a bit of a rush in the morning and that can mean leaving next to no time to preparing a decent, balanced breakfast.
The oats makes this smoothie relatively filling so that you don’t get a rumbling stomach mid-morning but as this can be whipped up in a few minutes it is an ideal way to have a tasty brekkie on the go.
Ingredients – serves 1
- 1 banana
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 8 dried dates (chop them up if your blender isn’t really powerful)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 cup almond milk
- handful of ice
- squeeze of honey
- This is an easy one – add it all the blender and process until smooth. The dates will take a while to be processed down enough so don’t be too impatient!
